Ryan Granger is a Melbourne based artist specialising in Sound Design, composition, dialogue editing, and sound recording for film, theatre, animation and video art. In addition, Granger designs and curates multi-speaker sound installations, collaborating with artists across diverse disciplines to incorporate sound into contemporary arts practices.
Also an active community sound artist with experience working with diverse populations including; people with disabilities; mental illness; and young people. Granger collaborates and facilitates workshops in response to a director’s vision or by autonomously leading sessions guided by his artistic inquiry, which utilises acoustic ecology, to explore the relationship between human beings and their impact on the environment they inhabit.
Producing work which traverses a range of styles and formats, Grangers work has recently exhibited at festivals and galleries including: Cannes, Annecy, MIFF, No Vacancy Gallery, Seventh gallery, Melbourne immigration museum, St Heliers gallery, Next Wave Festival, The Torrance art museum, MIAF,Bimblebox: art – science – nature project and the Phoenix film festival.
Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction from RMIT Universtiy and majoring in composition and sound design for visual and cinematic arts, Granger works from his studio (Dead On Sound) Oh Yeah Wow in Brunswick East Melbourne
