I have recently finished the score and SD for a short animation “Me and Them” by Ariel Victor. It had a screening at ACMI this week.
It’s a nice little animation about a boys growing pains with his brothers who share a different attitude and moral standing to him. Was a great little film and I got some good help from Adam Hunt with the SD.

Diego Ramirez video piece “Radish” which i composed the score for has been nominated for the Substation contemporary art prize, it can be seen and heard from 18th Oct – 17th November at the Substation art gallery in newport.
The winner gets 10K so fingers crossed it’s us…….
Here’s a track I recorded and mixed for the 3 piece folk outfit The Mae Trio. It was a windy cold morning and hard to get the mics clean but we got their in the end.
I love their harmonies and arrangements and was happy when asked to mix their album launch at the thornbury theatre a month or so ago.
They were recently nominated for best folk roots albums in this year’s Age Music Victoria Awards.

I have just finished Composition and Sound design for the Film “Blood and Sugar” by director Carl Stella. I got to put play some serious 50’s style rock and roll and a bunch of build up tension atmospheres, heaps of fun.
We went into the mix with Ant Bohun last week and it came up a treat. looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.
I have been Working hard over the last 2 weeks on a new short film by Nat James titled “Burrow”
Shot entirely in beijing, it is a coming of age drama with a hint of horror, which has been great to design, creaking, wind and ambiences etc.

I will soon be putting the final touches on a great short film called “Chinjoni” for director Cam Matherson.
It was a great project to be part of, a world war one film following a platoon of west africans as they fight the western front in france.
I have created a range of sounds from troop movement, vehicles, megaphones and distant gunfire as well as a huge amount of ambiences and dialogue editing.

Worked on a couple of tracks for finucane-smith’s-glory-box-paradise at fortyfive downstairs, pretty much a first for me in this field and to say the show blew my mind is an understatement, so much fun and such a celebration of power, form and fun for the human figure and social taboo. particular love goes to YUMI UMIUMARE, what an amazing dancer and performer!!
