Here’s the link to Adam Hunt’s and my studio webpage “Shotgun Sound”, simple at the moment but it’s coming along.
Nhawul Bultjubul Ma : To see with both eyes
I have just finished scoring sound designing and mixing this documentary produced by the tenants at the Parlour.
Shotgun sound team Adam Hunt and myself worked on the sound while Michael O’Dwyer and Brian Cohen directed and edited the film. It is a really great project that documents a conference held to talk about how aboriginal people can contribute to the ever present issue of climate change. It runs around twenty minutes and was a challenge to get the entire score and sound mix finished in a pretty tight turnaround.

Sheering Sheds and the butchering of a Deer
Had an amazing time over the long weekend field recording for an upcoming project with Tom baker. We experienced the skinning and butchering of a deer, not as gruesome as it sounds and actually made for some pretty amazing field recordings!!
As a note, this animal was respected and we used as much of it as we humanly could, i generally don’t feel the need to watch the butchering of animals, but as a non- vegetarian i believe it is important to understand the process that takes place before the cling wrapped versions end up in our supermarkets and frying pans. It was really an eyeopening experience and has made me think twice about the amount of meat products i consume.
We then took to a sheering shed, that i would have to say is a sound artists dream building…
looking forward to getting in the sounds and making some new installation and and live works.

Moreland Council asks the all the right questions with the help of a desk!!
I recently recorded a series of questions in 4 different languages for this cool project, all completed with amazing dudes from the parlour studio complex….was fun and interesting .
“A new creation emerges from The Parlour Studios- this time a desk which asks you provocative questions and records your stories. Currently doing the library rounds in Moreland. Devised by Tara Prowse, with assistance by Brian Cohen, Samuel Van Ransbeeck, Michael O’Dwyer, Ryan Granger & Aviva Reed.”
Blast Shadow
I have just finished the Sound Design and Mix on a short film supported by Youthworx Media brunswick.
Director Rali Hamasalih and producer Robbie Mcewan have made a great short narrative titled “Blast Shadow” that addressees issues facing young asylum seekers as they learn to live in a new society. Met some amazing people and learnt a lot in the process.
Earthling
I have been composing and sound designing over the last few weeks for a new Diego Ramirez video piece called “Earthling”.
I have really enjoyed venturing into the darker side of things after the lighter side of thew Band4Hope project.
This time I’m using voice, broken music boxes and inspiration form “Alien”, doesn’t get better than that!!
SSA: White Night 2013
Helped the SSA crew record Ross Irwin, Big Band and 50 piece choir on the princess bridge with the SSA crew and White Night Festivities, Pretty amazing stuff
Exhibition for Band4Hope “No Vacancy” Gallery Melbourne.
Myself and Tom Baker have been busy little bee’s producing work, collecting voices and writing music to respond to the theme of hope. We have a four speaker installation presenting the work at “No Vacancy” Gallery in the QV building from thursday 14th till the 3rd March. It is for a great cause by amazing people called “Band4Hope”.
TIDINGS OF HOPE [Sound Art]
Thomas Baker and Ryan Granger are a sound art duo providing an immersive environment of inspired frequencies and tidings of hope. Tidings of Hope is a multi-channel sound installation composed of interviews with people of all walks of life concerning their past and future hopes. These excerpts are interwoven with threads of personal optimism into a sonic fabric that drifts upon a harmonic ocean. This movement is the breeze that animates the leaves of the Tree4Hope.
